In one of his last acts as Victorian premier, Dan Andrews announced Melbourne’s iconic public housing towers would be torn down and residents would be relocated. With the threat of eviction looming, many people decided to leave.
But for Barry Berih, who has lived in one of the towers his whole life, this was a fight he had to have. Barry is one of hundreds of people who have taken the Victorian government to court over their plan. At 10am today, we’ll find out whether they won.

When parliament returns next week, Anthony Albanese’s Labor Party will sit on the government benches for the first time. It’s a significant test for what has changed since the election.
Albanese has already made clear that the agenda will be focused on legislating his climate targets. If he fails, it will be a blow to his credibility.
